Taverna Rossa

Pizza and Beer

Pizza and beer. For years, these two magic words have existed in delicious harmony. But in our grab-a-slice and chug-a-cold-one world, Taverna Rossa is here to take this tried-and-true pair to the next level.

Passionate about creating a remarkable experience through great food, drinks, service and atmosphere, Preston Lancaster, set out to create his favorite restaurant in a community he grew up in and is proud to be a part of.

Settling for nothing less than handmade goodness and hometown flavors, each pizza and entree is loaded with locally sourced ingredients. The menu was created in collaboration with Chef Brian Luscher, 33 Restaurant Group’s Director of Culinary Operations, whose influence elevates every bite to pizza perfection.

Enjoy your pie with an ice-cold brew from our worldly craft beer selection. Or, for our guests wearing their fancy pants, we offer one-of-a-kind, handcrafted cocktails and a variety of wines.

Taverna Rossa is a place to make yourself at home and rest your feet, but make sure you can still tap ‘em along to the live bands that play on Friday & Saturday nights. From blues to country to rock, even the music has a local flavor.

So grab your friends, grab your appetite and leave your old-school pizza principles at the door. Because at Taverna Rossa, we’ve crafted pizza and beer into a serious slice of amazing.

Thank you for your patronage, we truly appreciate it!

Our Team

Version 2

Preston Lancaster

Founder / ceo

Preston was born and raised in Dallas, Texas with restaurant-centric DNA in him. His grandparents were in the business for over 50 years and his mom owns a pizzeria and wine bar where Preston worked as a kid, running food and bussing tables. Fast-forward many years, Preston earned a golf scholarship to the University of San Diego and left four years later with a Business degree and his sights set on entering into the hospitality industry.

Preston has always been an entrepreneur at heart, from starting a lawn-mowing business as a child to owning a financial services company to owning half a dozen restaurants in the DFW Metroplex. In 2007, Preston purchased Palio’s Pizza Café in Little Elm, Texas and subsequently opened up three more North Texas locations. Soon after came the purchase and rebuild of the highly acclaimed Cadillac Pizza Pub in Downtown McKinney, Texas. Next, the concept of Taverna Rossa was born and opened its doors in Plano in 2013 and Southlake in 2016. The multiple Palio’s locations were sold in 2015 to support the opening of Heritage Pizza & Taproom in 2017, Union Bear Brewing Co. in December 2017, and The Yard-McKinney,TX in 2018.

Shannon McCarthy

Director of Marketing & PR

Shannon is the creative lead behind {33} Restaurant Group’s Marketing and PR. With a Bachelor of Science in Marketing and a diverse background in the sports, entertainment, and restaurant industries, Shannon brings a new perspective to our community relations and strategies. She regularly finds inspiration at the restaurants, or should we say “the office”. So next time you are in one of our restaurants, and you see her making a desk at one of our tables, feel free to stop by and let her know what you think!

Chef Brian Luscher

Director of Culinary Operations

Brian likes to say he was born into the restaurant business. He brings the pragmatic perspective of operator/ownership to 33’s culinary operations with a get-your-hands-dirty approach to problem solving and a never ending desire to improve on a foundation of excellence. In his off time, when not in the backyard with his wife, daughter and dogs, you’ll find him moto-camping adventures with a camera in his hand.

Community

{33} Restaurant Group and Taverna Rossa strongly believe in giving back to the communities we serve.  We are thankful to be a part of your community and appreciate the opportunity to serve you great pizza, great brews, and remarkable experiences.

If you or somebody you know has a great cause they are supporting and they are looking for an opportunity to raise money, collect gifts, need volunteers, etc, then please reach out to us at and let’s see how we might partner together!

Southlake – Wyatt Martin Unplugged

Twenty-five years is a long time for someone to spend overseas especially if they’re just a few years older than that themselves. Wyatt’s influence is from his walk among that overseas path. He’ll be singing in riddles. Riddles that reflect some of those things he saw and felt on that “other path”. He’ll be playing his guitar with that somewhat unique acoustic/electric, coffee house, finger style with a hint of Blues sound. He’ll be giving you little puzzle pieces, that if you’d like, you could use in your own puzzle. Maybe you could fill up some empty space that you think could use some filling or maybe you could build some bridges to some places you haven’t been able to get to before. And if any of that sounds good or would make you happy then join us in welcoming Wyatt Martin to his debut at Taverna Rossa. Come for the music and stay for the craft pizza and beer.

Plano – Singer-Songwriter Tanner Lane

Join us for Tanner Lane‘s return at Taverna Rossa-Plano. Expect nothing but the best craft pizza & beer paired with some fresh, original Texas Country & Americana music!

Southlake – Singer-Songwriter Tanner Lane

Plano – Bruce LaBarge Unplugged

Tapping your toes and singing along…songs that take you back to places that make you smile. As a solo acoustic artist and founding member of The Acoustic Jukebox, Bruce LaBarge performs a show that’s comfort food for your ears.  Old School Country to Easy Listening to Pop Rock translates into favorites you haven’t heard in a while from the likes of George Strait, The Eagles and Eric Clapton.

Watch for Bruce to be playing venues around North Dallas.  Don’t be shy about asking “I love that song…who did that one?”  He’s used to it!  With Midwestern roots and a college bar band pedigree, Bruce came to Texas as quickly as he could, and has been a part of our local music scene for 20 years.

Stella Artois Chalice Engraving at Southlake

Buy a Stella Artois pint, get an engraved Stella Artois gold rimmed glass personalized. Andrew’s staff will be present with glass engraving machine etching each glass with whatever personal message, as well as sampling Stella Premium Light Lager out to guests.

Southlake – Chant Duplantier Unplugged

With a combination of soul, funk, rock, and blues, Chant has established themselves as the ambassadors of Eclectic Soul – a soulful new genre that sets no rules and has no boundaries. This trio mixes intelligently crafted songs with exceptional musicianship to create a style that defies categories and defines originality.

With their roots in the past and a sound for the future, Chant truly is “the history of things to come.” Come check them out ONLY at Taverna Rossa!

Plano – The Bodarks Acoustic Duo

Plano – Singer-Songwriter Wyatt Martin

Southlake – Hula Haze

Hula had a strong desire for music at an early age! He was 16 when he took to learning guitar. He preferred writing songs more than covering others’ material. Hula had a very wide range of influences: Beatles, Johnny Cash, Elvis Presley, Beach Boys, Chicago, Led Zeppelin, Pat Travers, ZZ Top – just to name a few.

Always leaning towards being a Rocker! He put together a Texas Rock Band known as Bad Boy Blues and The Hulagans, both all original material rocking blues bands. Presently, Hula performs regular locally, regionally, and nationally gigs. He won the North Texas Blues Challenge in 2018 as a solo artist, and continues to write and play his own blend of rhythm and Blues!

Plano – Mountain Natives Acoustic Duo

Following Philip Pappas’ victory over cancer, he and his wife Loren started the band Mountain Natives to sing about the “Essentials” of overcoming mountains and living a life with hope, laughter, fulfilled dreams, and dreaming together.

The music that was produced by Philip and Loren was not from a place of wallowing in the doubt of life or death. These “Essential” songs were born from a place of hope and gratitude. That hope is impressed on not just the ears but the heart of the listener. Hope for the miraculous. Philip and Loren want you to believe in the hope that the impossible is possible. Mountains of adversity can be thrown into the sea.
