Southlake’s own Dan Quinn will be giving a rare public performance right here at Taverna Rossa – Southlake! Dan has received rave reviews for his performances at weddings, corporate events, fundraisers, and private events around the Dallas area. His unique blending of popular acoustic hits with DJ style effects and advanced looping technology has earned him recognition as a performer at the upcoming 2017 NAMM Show in California.

Come out and enjoy a variety of music from genre’s including Blues, Zydeco, Classic Rock and Country.

Plano – Atlantis Aquarius

We’re excited to be hosting Atlantis Aquarius for their debut at Taverna Rossa! The players in the upstart Dallas band boast members of some of Dallas’ more successful bands — Jonathan Tyler & The Northern Lights, The Texas Gentlemen, Larry G(EE) & The Affections, Paul Cauthen, Rise & Shine, Buffalo Ruckus and Jack Ingram’s backing band, just to name a few — Atlantis Aquarius ain’t exactly running from its many, many ties to the North Texas music scene. Rather, it seems to be embracing it, incorporating elements from its many aesthetics into its twangy version of psych rock. They truly have “a far out Texas” sound!

Southlake – Lindsay Hightower Band

Local Lindsay Hightower has a five piece Texi-Cali band with heavy influences of Soul, Rock, and peppered with a little country. Based in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, Dark, sultry, and campy in nature, every member in the band has performed extensively throughout the U.S. Their musical muses are many and include Amy Winehouse, Sheryl Crow, and Duffy. Hightower’s recently released debut album is entitled Echo Spring. This lyrics-driven debut is directly inspired by Olivia Laing’s book, “Trip to Echo Spring” and explores the commonalities between the word weavers Hemingway, Tennessee Williams and F. Scott Fitzgerald.

Plano – Colin Boyd

Colin Boyd is a songwriter, singer, performer, guitarist, and recording-artist based in his hometown, Dallas, Texas. His songs have been recorded by Jack Ingram, Kristen Garner, Domestic Science Club, Monte Warden, Sara Hickman, and Barney the Dinosaur. Boyd’s Jack ingram cut “Flutter” was not only a Billboard-charting single in 1997, it was the Number One requested video on CMT UK – a chart-topper!

Southlake – Velvet Love Box

Velvet Love Box features three veteran musicians from the North Texas area: percussionist/vocalist Brandon Bumpas, guitarist/vocalist Scot Cloud, and vocalist/bassist Neil Schnell. The band formed at Bronco’s Sports Bar in 1997, where they still perform every Thursday night, and over the past fifteen years they have continued to blur the line between “cover” and “original”, creating a niche for themselves. In early 2002 VLB recorded their first EP, “Pilot,” for Texas indie label Aaron Ave. Records. In 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2008 Velvet Love Box was voted Best Cover Band by the readers of Fort Worth Weekly! 

Help us kick-off Velvet Love Box’s return to Taverna Rossa – Southlake. The craft beer will be flowin’ and the artisan pizza will be hot!

Mark Sena has been playing music for many years but had put that love aside for 30 years to raise his 4 children and his wife. His love for entertaining grabbed hold of him again about 10 years ago when he decided to get back into performing for live audiences. Mark has several different Bands and Music. His band, Mark Sena and Friends is a mixture of Blues, Rock, and Original music he performs as guitar/vocalist along with local guitar greats like Jackie Don Loe, Joey Love, Mike Clark, and Texas Slim, along with Bill Cornish/Chuck Rasco on Bass, and Kevin Schermerhorn/Jimmy Morgan on Drums. Mark also performs with his band, Mark Sena’s Funk Machine, featuring Jackie Done Loe, Tommy Hill, and Bill Cornish to bring to you the Motown Sound, Original Songs, and many cool old classics. Mark Sena also performs acoustic duo with such players as Jackie Don Loe, Roger Escabedo, and Joey Love. Come out to see one of these high energy shows. You are sure to have a good time.

Southlake – Late Day Sun

Late Day Sun has been together for over 3 years and is comprised of experienced musicians who have been playing all over N. Texas for years. They play a variety of music from the 60’s to current, mostly focusing on classic rock such as (CCR, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Skynyrd, Eagles, Doobie Bros., etc.) but they also mix in some Motown and even a few popular country tunes -when the mood is right. Be assured that Late Day Sun will put on a fun show.

Plano – Ruben V

Described by Joe King Carrasco as “the keeper of the flame of the San Antonio vibe”, Ruben’s been a fixture in the Alamo City for nearly two decades; with almost ten albums under his belt, most of which under the eye of producer Jim Gaines (Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, Blues Traveler), Ruben evokes a blues sound comparable to Robert Cray and melds it with Santana-esque Latin rock. Regularly voted as San Antonio’s Best Blues Band and Best Guitarist, Ruben has opened for legends such as BB King, Jimmie Vaughan, Buddy Guy, Delbert McClinton, Gipsy Kings, and Robert Cray.

Plano – Homestead Underground

Homestead Underground has been performing and writing music for most of their adult lives. Neither one was born in Texas (sadly), but got here as fast as possible! They have a love for playing cover music and composing original songs. Influences are too vast to name them all, but include John Mayer, Eric Clapton, and -of course- Stevie Ray Vaughan. Homestead Underground covers and writes country, blues with a twist of jazz, all of this mixed together is better known as “Tex-Rock.”

How can you be a tribute band representing just ONE band when there’s SO MUCH great timeless rock to be heard?? The 8tracks have been played great “timeless rock” in nightclubs and parties around North Texas since 2004, covering audience favorites, as well as forgotten gems. If you remember tooling around in your car in high school or college listening to classic rock, you need to check out The 8 Tracks!

Plano – Trey Allen Band

Trey Allen Band is an indie-rock band based out of Dallas, TX. They have performed at a variety of music venues across the country, from House of Blues in Dallas to music festivals in Oklahoma and Georgia. With Trey’s raspy vocals and passion for music and Johns harmony vocals it will grab your attention and make you want to hear more! They have a broad range of musical influences such as The Rolling Stones, Radiohead, REM, Tom Petty, Audioslave and The Beatles, and current artist also like, The Lumineers, Mondo Cozmo, The Black Keys, Young The Giant, Bishop Briggs and Foy Vance.

Southlake – Missing Three

Missing Three is known for a wide variety of musical styles from oldie classics to today’s top hits! The entertainment is never ending with an inventive bucket percussion routines like the famous Broadway show “Stomp!”, unique artwork created right on stage, a guitarist who does handstands while playing, and a big voiced female vocalists, larger than Christina Aguilera!

Plano – Droo Unplugged

Droo’s Peace Crush has been active in the Dallas music scene for well over 15 years. While he began his career playing bass with numerous local & national acts, for the past 8+ years, he’s successfully navigated the local cover music scene, becoming known for his pure, raw vocals, full rhythmic guitar voicing’s, and being able to perform all kinds of pop music from all different styles, genres, and periods. Starting out, he mostly performed solo, but throughout the years, an incredible band has organically formed around him,and now you will often hear 2-4 of them playing out together in bars and venues all over North Texas. Their full sound stems from many various backgrounds, ethnicities, musical styles, and all-around walks of life. Since their musical elements are as eclectic as the Peace Crush-ers themselves, sonically the band is like nothing else that you’ve ever heard before…and because of the extremely diverse cover song selections they’ve performed over the years, their original tunes are a pop-heavy beautiful mix of energetic melodies, sounds, and collaborations that they derive from all these influences.
